This Shipping and Sample Return Policy explains how testing kits are delivered and how collected samples must be returned for laboratory processing.
By placing an order through MethylationTest.ca, you agree to provide accurate delivery information and follow all collection, packaging, consent, and return instructions supplied with your testing kit.
Orders are prepared after payment and required order information have been successfully received.
Processing time may vary depending on:
Product availability
Order verification
Payment confirmation
Kit registration requirements
Delivery location
Laboratory requirements
Weekends and holidays
High order volume
Weather or service disruptions
Order processing time is separate from shipping time and laboratory turnaround time.
Available shipping destinations are displayed during checkout or confirmed by customer support.
Some services may not be available in every province, territory, region, or country. Certain tests may also have special shipping, sample collection, consent, age, or identification requirements.
We may cancel or place an order on hold when a product cannot be shipped to the supplied location.
Clients are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address, including:
Recipient name
Street address
Unit or apartment number
City
Province or territory
Postal code
Country
Telephone number, when required
Any necessary delivery instructions
MethylationTest.ca is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, additional charges, or lost shipments caused by incomplete or incorrect information supplied by the client.
Contact customer support immediately if an address needs to be corrected. Address changes may not be possible after an order has been processed or transferred to the courier.
Any delivery date shown on the website, at checkout, or in an email is an estimate rather than a guaranteed arrival date.
Delivery may be affected by circumstances outside our control, including:
Courier delays
Weather
Transportation disruptions
Labour disruptions
Customs inspections
Remote delivery locations
Incorrect addresses
Failed delivery attempts
Holidays
High shipping volumes
Public emergencies
Shipping delays are outside the laboratory turnaround time.
Laboratory turnaround time does not begin when the order is placed or when the testing kit is shipped to the client.
Turnaround time begins only after:
The samples have arrived at the correct laboratory
The samples have been identified
The samples have been accepted for processing
Required consent forms have been received
Required supporting documents have been approved
The order is ready for laboratory analysis
Kit delivery time, sample collection time, return shipping time, customs delays, courier delays, missing documentation, sample failure, replacement collection, and re-testing are not included in the laboratory turnaround time.
Tracking may be provided when the selected shipping method includes tracking.
Tracking information can take time to appear after a label has been created. A shipping label notification does not always mean that the package has already been collected by the courier.
Clients are responsible for monitoring tracking updates and contacting the courier when a package is delayed, held, or marked as delivered but cannot be located.
A shipment may be considered delivered when the courier records delivery to:
The address provided during checkout
A mailbox or community mailbox
A reception area
A building concierge
A safe-drop location
A parcel locker
A pickup location
Another person at the delivery address
MethylationTest.ca is not responsible for theft, loss, or damage occurring after the courier has confirmed delivery.
If a package cannot be delivered because of an incorrect address, failed delivery attempts, refusal, non-collection, or another issue outside our control, it may be returned to the sender.
Additional shipping and handling charges may apply if the client asks for the kit to be shipped again.
Original shipping charges may not be refundable after a delivery service has been used.
Clients should inspect the package promptly after delivery.
Contact customer support if:
The package appears seriously damaged
The testing kit is missing
Collection components are missing
The wrong product was delivered
A security seal appears to have been broken before delivery
Clients may be asked to provide photographs of the package, shipping label, kit, and damaged or missing components.
Do not collect a sample using a damaged or incomplete kit unless customer support confirms that it is safe and appropriate to proceed.
Clients must follow the sample collection instructions included with the kit.
Before returning a sample, confirm that:
The correct person provided the sample
Collection instructions were followed
The sample container was properly closed
Required labels were completed
The sample was placed in the correct packaging
Required consent forms were completed
Required identification or supporting documents were included
The correct return instructions are being used
Incorrect collection or packaging may cause delays, sample rejection, inconclusive results, or the need for re-testing.
Clients must use the sample return instructions supplied with their specific kit.
Different testing products may use different:
Laboratories
Return addresses
Courier services
Packaging materials
Shipping labels
Customs documentation
Temperature requirements
Consent forms
Sample identification procedures
Do not use a return address copied from another kit, an old order, a general website page, or an unrelated email.
Using an incorrect return method may result in a delayed, lost, rejected, or unusable sample.
Prenatal testing kits require specific handling and return procedures.
Prenatal samples must be returned using the instructions included inside the prenatal kit.
The prenatal kit instructions take priority over any general shipping or sample return information published on the website.
Do not send prenatal samples using:
Instructions from a non-prenatal kit
A general laboratory address
An address from a previous order
An unapproved courier
A standard return label intended for another test
Failure to follow the prenatal kit instructions may result in sample rejection, shipping delays, additional fees, or the need for replacement samples.
Some tests require consent forms, identification documents, medical information, or additional authorization.
Clients must complete and return all required documents using the process described in the kit.
A sample may be placed on hold and laboratory testing may not begin when:
A consent form is missing
A form is unsigned
Required fields are incomplete
Information does not match the order
Identification is missing
Additional authorization is required
Time spent obtaining, correcting, or verifying documentation is not included in the laboratory turnaround time.
The kit instructions or product details will indicate whether return shipping is included.
When return shipping is not included, the client is responsible for:
Selecting an appropriate courier
Paying shipping charges
Paying applicable customs charges
Using the correct return address
Using suitable packaging
Obtaining tracking
Retaining the shipping receipt
MethylationTest.ca is not responsible for costs charged by a courier, postal service, customs authority, or third-party shipping provider.
Clients should use a trackable shipping method whenever possible.
Keep the receipt, tracking number, and proof of shipment until the laboratory confirms that the sample has been received.
A tracking status showing delivery does not necessarily mean that the sample has completed laboratory intake, identification, consent verification, or quality review.
International shipments may be subject to:
Customs inspections
Import or export restrictions
Biological material requirements
Courier limitations
Additional documentation
Taxes, duties, or brokerage fees
Longer delivery times
Clients are responsible for following the international return instructions provided with the kit.
MethylationTest.ca cannot guarantee customs clearance times or acceptance of a sample sent without the required documents.
MethylationTest.ca cannot guarantee the performance of postal services, couriers, customs authorities, or other shipping providers.
If a return sample is delayed, lost, or damaged, the client should contact the carrier using the tracking information and then notify customer support.
A replacement sample or kit may be required. Additional collection, kit, courier, or laboratory charges may apply depending on the circumstances.
Some samples may fail or require re-testing because of:
Insufficient sample material
Contamination
Sample degradation
Incorrect collection
Improper packaging
Temperature exposure
Shipping damage
Missing labels
Missing consent forms
Laboratory quality-control requirements
Technical limitations
The client may be asked to provide another sample when the original sample cannot be processed.
Replacement sample collection, shipment, and re-testing time are not included in the original laboratory turnaround estimate.
MethylationTest.ca operates through a reseller process.
After laboratory processing is complete, results are sent or made available through the applicable reseller process. Depending on the test, results may be provided by email, through an online platform, as a downloadable report, or through another secure delivery method.
Shipping time applies to physical kits and samples. Electronic results do not require physical shipping.
Shipping, courier, express delivery, customs, duties, brokerage, and handling charges are generally non-refundable after the relevant service has been used or the cost has been incurred.
Refund eligibility for the underlying testing service is governed by the MethylationTest.ca Return, Refund and Cancellation Policy.
We may update this Shipping and Sample Return Policy when shipping services, laboratories, kit requirements, courier arrangements, or sample return procedures change.
Clients should always follow the instructions included with their current testing kit, even when those instructions differ from general information previously published on the website.
