About MethylationTest.ca

Clear, at-home DNA methylation testing for Canadians

MethylationTest.ca was created to make genetic methylation testing easier to access, understand and use responsibly.

Our at-home DNA methylation test examines more than 9,000 genetic locations, including genes such as COMT, MTHFR and MTR. The report organizes your results around important metabolic pathways, including the Folate Cycle and Methionine Cycle, and provides personalized diet, exercise and lifestyle considerations.

Sample collection is completed at home using a simple oral swab. Results are generally available within 10 days after your sample is received by the laboratory.

Our Mission

Responsible genetic wellness information, explained clearly

Our mission is to give Canadians clearer access to responsible, report-based genetic wellness information.

Genetic testing can be difficult to understand. Reports may contain unfamiliar gene names, pathway terminology and technical information that is hard to place in context. We aim to explain the testing process and report scope in plain language so that you know what you are ordering, what the test examines and how the results may be used.

Our reports are intended for education and wellness planning. They are not intended to diagnose a medical condition, identify the cause of symptoms or replace care from a qualified healthcare professional.

Report Scope

What Does a Methylation Test Examine?

A genetic methylation test looks at inherited genetic variations associated with methylation-related pathways.

The DNA Methylation Comprehensive Health Report examines more than 9,000 genetic locations, including key genes involved in the processing and regulation of nutrients and other biological functions.

Folate & Methionine

Genetic pathway context related to folate processing and the methionine cycle.

Nutrient Processing

Inherited tendencies connected with how selected nutrients may be processed.

Energy & Stress

Pathways associated with energy-related and stress-response genetic patterns.

Hormone Pathways

Genetic information related to selected hormone-processing pathways.

Inflammation & Antioxidants

Pathway context connected with inflammatory and antioxidant processes.

Performance & Recovery

Selected tendencies associated with athletic performance and recovery.

DNA Protection

Genetic context related to DNA protection and detoxification-associated processes.

These findings describe genetic tendencies and pathway context. They do not show your current nutrient levels, diagnose deficiencies or prove that a genetic variation is responsible for a symptom.

At-Home Process

How the At-Home Testing Process Works

The process is designed to be completed remotely, with clear instructions provided for collection, return shipping and report delivery.

01

Order Your Test

The documented turnaround time for the DNA methylation test is approximately 10 days from receipt of the sample at the laboratory.

Our Difference

What Makes MethylationTest.ca Different?

Our focus is not ancestry, entertainment or family-relationship testing. We concentrate on methylation-related genetic information, clear report scope and responsible use.

Focused on methylation and wellness

Genetic information is organized around methylation pathways and wellness-oriented report categories.

Broad genetic coverage

The report examines more than 9,000 genetic locations and includes recognized genes such as MTHFR, COMT and MTR.

At-home oral-swab collection

A non-invasive oral swab makes collection accessible without a standard clinic visit.

Clearer report guidance

We explain the report’s purpose, scope and limits so genetic tendencies are not confused with medical findings.

Professional review encouraged

Results may be discussed with a physician, naturopathic doctor, registered dietitian or another qualified professional.

Nationwide Access

MethylationTest.ca provides a mail-based testing option for clients in Canada.

Whether you live in Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax or another Canadian community, the at-home process is designed to reduce the need for an in-person collection appointment.

Professional Context

Supporting Clients and Health Practitioners

A methylation report may provide useful context for a wellness discussion, but genetic findings should not be considered in isolation.

Qualified practitioners can help place genetic information alongside factors such as medical history, current symptoms, bloodwork, diet, medications and personal health goals.

Do not begin, stop or change medication, supplements, treatment or a restrictive diet solely because of a genetic wellness report.

Health professionals interested in learning more about the report or discussing client-support options are welcome to contact our team.

Our Approach

Clear expectations before, during and after testing

The idea behind MethylationTest.ca is straightforward: people should be able to understand what a genetic wellness test examines before they order it.

  • Clear information about the test’s scope
  • Transparent sample and turnaround expectations
  • Plain-language explanations of genetic pathways
  • Responsible limitations and disclaimers
  • Access to sample reports and pricing before purchase
  • Support throughout the testing process

We do not present genetic testing as a guaranteed solution for fatigue, fertility concerns, mood changes, inflammation or other health issues. Instead, the report provides genetic context that may support a broader, professionally guided wellness conversation.

Take the Next Step with Clear Expectations

Information about inherited tendencies—not a medical diagnosis

A DNA methylation test can provide information about inherited genetic tendencies associated with methylation and related wellness pathways.

It cannot diagnose a disease, confirm the cause of a symptom or replace medical testing. The most useful next step is to understand the report’s scope and review health-related decisions with an appropriately qualified professional.
